Happy Friday! I’ve enjoyed reading all of the blog posts celebrating the arrival of spring, but we’re still getting snow storms making it still seem so far away. Inside our house is another story with the appearance of my first bloom from the forced tulip bulbs I started back in January. So fresh and pretty, aren’t they?
I originally planted four pots with tulip bulbs in mid-January. Two of them were left in my basement storage room where it’s cool until the first week of February, and the other two were brought up at the beginning of March. I planned it that way so I’d have blooms throughout the spring season rather than all at once. It’s amazing to think this is what I started with…
And now these gorgeous flowers! Although I only have one bloom so far, there are several others almost there. I’m thinking the timing will be perfect for Easter.
Is spring out in full force where you live or are you only seeing glimpses like me? Perhaps adding some tulip blooms to your indoor space is just what you need.
Wishing you a warm and sunny weekend!
I love fresh blooms in the house. So fun that you planted them yourself. :)
Looking good!! I forced bulbs and branches for spring colour indoors too. I love the smell of the hyacinths.
Debbie :)
I really wanted to force branches, but I didn’t make it to my parents’ farm to pick any up. Perhaps I’ll still get there before too long. It’s something I’ve always wanted to try.
It’s still so cold here and we are expecting snow again! I love tulips but I’ll have to buy mine!
