Using What I Have
This holiday season, I’ve challenged myself to use what I already have on hand to decorate our home and wrap gifts. So far, it’s been much easier than I first thought. Of course, it’s taken a little imagination and creativity, but doable nonetheless.
Do you remember the snowy bottle brush tree ornaments I made for our Christmas tree? I had quite a few mini trees leftover from that project, so it only made sense to turn them into gift toppers.

It’s amazing what we have stashed away that we’ve forgotten about, right?! I picked up the tiny clothespins years ago to attach tags and cards to Christmas gifts. I think it’s always good to select items that we can reuse over and over again, especially when it comes wrapping gifts.

The simple addition of the mini tree to the clothespin gives it a wintery look. Whether you’re using patterned or simple kraft paper to wrap your Christmas gifts, it’s going to work beautifully. They’re ideal for decorating gift bags as well.
Play around with different tree colours and sizes too. I like my tree decor and gift wrap to coordinate.
You could also attach other mini decorations to the clothespins for a bit a variety. Think about the recipient to include something personal.
A little super glue to fasten the tree to the clothespin, and you’re done! DIY Christmas gift toppers don’t get any quicker than these!
You could also clip them to the tree as ornaments or use them with names as place card holders on your Christmas table. Have fun with them!
