Giveaway Winner {Swanky Press} + A Little Blog Housekeeping

Happy Friday! I’m sure you’re excited the weekend is almost here! I remember the days when the week dragged on so long and the weekends seemed too short. On Sunday nights I would feel a little bit of anxiety setting in knowing what was to come o Monday morning. It’s not that I ever disliked being a teacher, but the rigid schedule and “have to do this and that” didn’t fit well with my personality. Now I love that I have the flexibility to work at anytime of the day (even in my pj’s if I like) and shut my office door to be able to spend quality time with my family.

This week I had the pleasure of introducing Elizabeth of Swanky Press to you. She and I share a similar path of giving up our initial careers to start our own businesses. I love meeting women who are going after their dreams, yet keeping their families as the number one priority. It really can work! If you missed the feature, you can catch up here.

I want to express a big thank you to Elizabeth for sponsoring a fantastic giveaway!

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to leave a comment and share the feature and giveaway on Facebook and Twitter.

And now for the fun part! Congratulations to Marissa of Sea Flower Studios for winning the $50 credit.

She will be able to spend the credit at Swanky Press or Swanky Press on Etsy (bet I know what she’ll get)!

Here were some of the popular choices in the feature’s comments:

 {Personalized Stamper}

 {Melamine Plates}

 If you’re not the winner, perhaps you could treat yourself to one of the Personalized Stampers. I think ordering one of these will be on my to-do list!

To switch gears a little, it was brought to my attention a while ago that Google is shutting down some of its sites in order to streamline (basically nudge us to use Google+). It doesn’t really affect me too much, except I’m sad to see the photo editor Picnik go. Another thing that will be phased out is Google Friend Connect (particularly for blogs on the wordpress platform). I was late getting to this one, so I really don’t have much to worry about. However, for the 17 of you who have joined via Friend Connect (thank you very much), I am offering other ways to follow. I would love for a few more of you to hop on board as well! (wink, wink, nudge, nudge…)

A few of my blogger friends are already switching over to Linky Followers. I now have this option next to Google Friend Connect on the right hand side bar.

If you’re an email or RSS person, you can simply read my posts in a program of your choice (My Yahoo, Google, Newsgator, etc.).

Bloglovin’ (one of my favorites) allows you to add all the blogs you’d like to follow in a neat and tidy package. A daily email is sent (if there are any new posts)- easy peasy!

Of course you can also stay updated on Facebook

And see what I’m talking about on Twitter

I absolutely love Pinterest and I invite you to follow my boards as well!

Lastly (phew) you can now find me on Google+. I’m still figuring it all out, but I’m starting to get the hang of it! Come see what it’s all about.

As always, I love to connect with you, so let me know you’re following! I love having a warm and welcoming community around me every day!

Have a splendid weekend!

    I’m so excited to have won this amazing prize! Thank you so much to both you and Elizabeth! I feel so lucky and you’ve made my day!

    That’s too bad about Google Friend Connect! I know many blogs have most of their followers that way and it will be difficult to start fresh. I follow the blogs I love (including yours!) on bloglovin and I find it the easiest way to follow and stay up to date.

      I’m so happy for you! Thanks for following my blog on Bloglovin’. I find it the easiest way to stay up to date, although sometimes posts don’t arrive until the next day in my email.
