I’m excited to announce a new series I’m starting today that features Etsy Shops. First up, Libby Lane Press!
Known as the world’s handmade marketplace, Etsy is a medium for very small business owners (mainly moms) to showcase their wares and have much more sway in the global economy. I love it for it’s heart-centered approach to commerce and the variety of unique products it offers. More importantly, I love the stories behind the people.
It’s my hope that each of the stores I feature over the next few months will inspire you. I’ll outline the journey each woman took to open her shop, as well as the creations she holds close to her heart. I knew immediately when I came across Libby Lane Press, that it was the perfect store to kick off the series.
Who’s Behind Libby Lane Press?
Her name is Nicolle Spitulnik and she just officially jumped into the world of parties and designing at the beginning of June. It all started as a quest for the ‘perfect’ invitation for her son’s 1st birthday and her efforts quickly spiraled into an interest in graphic design. Nicolle knew that if she learned how to use Illustrator and Photoshop, she could create her own invitation. Little did she know that this creative project would become her new career path.
Nicolle always heard that you should choose a job doing something that you love. Well, she has the luxury of doing both now. She is a mom in the day with her adorably fun 1 year old son and sweet 3 year old daughter, and in the evening she is a party printables designer and party stylist. This tricky balance requires a tremendous amount of dedication, time management and vision for where you want your business to go. She cannot say she has perfected these areas just yet… but she is looking forward to what the future holds for Libby Lane Press.
Libby Lane Press Etsy Shop
Nicolle opened her Etsy shop with about 10 printable items and has been busy since that day. Her very first sale was the Gender Reveal Honeybee Invitation which remains her top sold design, followed by the Pancakes and Pajamas Collection(s).
Her Etsy Shop carries an array of printable party designs as well as printed notecards. She also offers clients professional printing should they prefer a less DIY approach. She has partnered with two different professional printers to offer variation in products and quantities. Libby Lane Press offers professional printing in increments of 5, after the 25 minimum is met. They also offer large scale banners and party display boards designed to coordinate with Libby Lane Press designs.
Since the Honeybee Gender Reveal was such a popular collection, Nicolle decided to style an event for a photo shoot using the party printables. This styling event was a success and featured on Hostess with the Mostess in October.
After she dabbled with styling she realized how much she loves it! This inspired her to start on her next project. She stumbled upon feathered trees in Home Goods and her Halloween collection was born. This Halloween Collection, titled Birds of a Feather, was featured on Amy Atlas Events also in October.
She is currently brainstorming her next styling event for the holidays.
Nicolle is generously giving away 25 personalized, double-sided, 4×5.5 notecards printed on press quality stock paper along with 25 white envelopes. Winner may choose a current design or work with Libby Lane Press for a custom designed card. After approving a proof, notecards will be shipped directly to the winner.
