Whenever I come across a fantastic resource written by someone who has not only talked the talk, but also walked the walk, I feel the need to share it with you. Do you remember Shannon of {aka}|design? She was part of my Designer Challenge series a few months ago, where she put together an amazing mood board for a study.
Since then, Shannon has finished writing her first book titled Welcome Home. Having read this book cover to cover, I can say that it gave me the inspiration to get back on track with decorating and organizing my own home. I’m finally working on some projects that I’ve had in the back of my mind for months!
Shannon contacted me earlier this month and asked if I’d be interested in sharing the book with all of you and my immediate response was, “Of course!” She then asked if it would be okay to give away two copies. Um, well, let’s see…I think everyone would be in favor of that!
I always like to know the background of a book, so I asked Shannon to introduce Welcome Home from her perspective. Why exactly did she write the book? What is it about? What influenced the content…
Hi there, Satori readers. I’m thrilled to be here today! My name is Shannon Acheson and I write the blog {aka}|design. My husband, Dean, and I are a Canadian couple sharing our thrifty design finds, organization ideas and affordable DIY projects. Just over two years ago we bought our war era bungalow in the suburbs of Toronto, Ontario. It needed SO much work. We have tackled renos like a full kitchen makeover, a partial bathroom gut and building a master bedroom. We have also done floors and walls and furniture; projects big and small. All while on a budget and raising our three kiddos.
I’m here on Satori today to share a giveaway with you…
Creating a cozy home for our family and helping others to do the same is my passion. I love beautiful spaces. But I also I love it when someone visits our house and feels right at home putting their feet up with a cup of tea. Or when my kids sprawl on the shag area rug in the living room to play a board game. And I love when things are easily tidied up because everything has a place. I want to help others create the same welcoming spaces in their home.
I write our blog to share our projects and inspiration. I also wrote an eBook called Welcome Home.
My eBook is divided up into three sections. Part One is called Begin at the Beginning and it shows you how to do just that; a few do’s & don’ts plus three elements that make a great space. Part Two is all about where to find inspiration and how to use that inspiration. Part Three helps you get down to business with small space decorating ideas, budget decorating tricks and bargain shopping tips. Plus a whole bunch more all packed up neatly in one little package!
I’d like to offer up two free PDF copies of Welcome Home for Satori readers. If you’d like to purchase a copy now and you win the giveaway, I’ll refund you in full for your purchase. You know, if you just can’t wait! :)
