Bold Rug Choice for Our Entryway
Sharing a sneak peek of the turquoise ombre bold rug I selected for our front entryway. Time to get started on this makeover!
How was your Easter weekend? We celebrated my son’s 18th birthday (still can’t believe he’s that old already!), caught up on a few things around the house, and did a little shopping. With the changing seasons, our wardrobes all needed a little freshening. Unfortunately I came up empty-handed for myself, but it means I have a little more money to go towards our front entryway makeover that has been put off for far too long.
I haven’t finalized the design details for the space yet, but I’m using this blue ombre rug as the jumping off point. A bold choice for me perhaps, but I’m craving colour after the long winter we’ve had. I’m thinking light and airy paint on the walls, dark grey tile on the floor, and pops of blue and green in the artwork and accessories.
Our rug should be arriving in the next week or two, and I can’t wait to roll my sleeves up and tackle the space. There are far too many hockey bag and backpack dings to go unnoticed, and with it being the first area you see when you enter our home, it’s really not leaving the best first impression!
Later on, I’ll be sharing a few more ideas I have kicking around for a wall treatment, lighting, and more. These ideas for our front entrance have been swimming around in my head for far too long!
Do you have any projects you’re finally getting to after a long period of time? Perhaps you want to join me in crossing them off your list this month!

Thanks Laurie! Hope I love it when it arrives!
I love the color. I just posted about a new rug for my front entry, too. Hmm…maybe it’s spring that has us freshening up? I can’t wait to see what you have planned!
Oh, I need to check yours out. Yes, everything needs a little freshening after the long winter we’ve had!
I love that rug, Shauna! The colours are gorgeous, and from what you’ve described, your entry will be, too!! I am also a member of Homesave – great options at doable prices!
Thanks Sheila! Have your bought anything from HomeSav? I’ve used it for clients and it seems to have worked out well for them, but this is my first purchase for myself. Crossing fingers I love it when it arrives!
That is a gorgeous rug and will definitely make a big splash in your entry.
Thanks Carol. Yes, it will make quite the statement. I have a feeling people will either love it or hate it!
Gorgeous rug! Can’t wait to see it all pulled together.
Yes, we started on the great room, fixing holes with drywall mud and will be picking up the paint…well, as soon as we can. :)
Thanks Debbie. It will be great to freshen everything up. Do you have the color picked out yet?
I adore that rug! We too are saving for a big project. We plan to replace some old outdated tile on our main floor with hardwood. Some day!
Thanks Stephanie! Hope your project happens faster for you than you thought!
