Basement Fabric Considerations

Over the extended Canada Day weekend, I took a bit of a break to spend some time with family and friends. It was really nice to get away and not have to think about trim work, paint, tile, lighting and flooring (can you tell I’m ready for our basement renovation to be over!).

We’re nearing the end, and I’m happy to report that the Sarah Richardson paint colors I selected are looking gorgeous. Stay tuned for photo updates.

All of the basement finishes have been selected and ordered (except for the snack bar tile), so I’m turning my attention to the decorative materials, such as fabric and furniture. I have always been drawn to fabric, and quite often use it as the jumping off point for decorating any room.

Basement Fabric Options

Below are some of the patterns we’re considering. Not only am I drawn to the look of these fabrics, but most are cotton and/or linen, so the hand is beautiful.

Note: Fabric Colors are quite a bit different than what appears on your screen.

I’m still looking for one large-scale patterned fabric to set the tone for the room. I’m considering the above fabrics for pillows, window treatments and smaller upholstered pieces, such as a chair, bench or stool.

Are there any fabric patterns or colors that stand out to you? I’d appreciate your feedback in the comments.

  1. All of these choices are really great, and I think XU Garden is my favorite… I’m really looking forward to your reveal!

  2. Oh my! I love all of them but the one stands out the most for me is probably “Pelagos”. You really can’t go wrong with either one though.

  3. Oh.. great choices!  I am loving Xu Garden and Esquire!  Can’t wait to see the final decision!
