Ingredients
1cupextra virgin olive oil
1tablespooncrushed red pepper
1teaspoonfinely chopped or minced garlic (use fresh)
¼teaspoonsea salt
¼teaspoongranulated sugar
Instructions
In a small saucepan over low heat on stove, add half the olive oil and full amount of crushed red chili, garlic, salt and sugar. Gently heat for about 4-5 minutes, stirring often. (Don't brown garlic.)
Remove from heat, stir in remaining olive oil and allow to cool. Transfer to clean jar and store in refrigerator. Use within 4 days.
Notes
Adjust red pepper flakes according to how spicy you want the oil. Each day it will become stronger in taste.
When storing in refrigerator, olive oil will solidify. Simply remove about 5 minutes before serving, stir and it's ready to go!
*Always store in refrigerator and discard any unused flavoured oil after 4 days maximum (if it lasts that long)!
