Did you read Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert? Sometimes I’m a little late jumping on a book train and, in this case, a lot late.
Yesterday I finished the book and I have to say that, although she lost me at times, there were some parts I found very compelling. Overall, it was a book that resonated with me.
Isn’t that what life is all about? If everything was exciting and earth shattering all the time, wouldn’t it become too familiar and perhaps seem a little monotonous over time? Like the book, I think an enriched life is all about getting through the flat moments and enjoying the peaks. There is so much to learn on both sides of the coin.
Now that I’m finished Eat, Pray, Love, I’m looking for the next great read. To me, summer is all about the balance between relaxing and adventure and I’m looking forward to both!
Are there any books you’d recommend? What’s “hitting home” for you (or taking you outside your comfort zone)?

I read that book last year – I must say, it wasn’t one of my favorites. But I tend to prefer historical fiction, self-help, and design books. Thanks for the comment earlier – your blog is lovely!

Oh Shauna, you asked a loaded question ;-) I too, have Eat, Pray, Love… but mine is still waiting to be read! Right now I’m scrambling just trying to read my favorite blogs, but I do have Decorate on the go. It’s just crazy how the sun has finally decided to shine, and suddenly there aren’t enough hours in the day! Happy to hear your feedback on Eat, Pray, Love – my hubby read it first, and he had much the same reaction to it!
