Designer Challenge: Which Settee? {Part One}

It’s time once again for our Designer Challenge. This time, I presented three gorgeous settee options and asked each designer to select her favorite and tell us what she’d do with it.

First up, I’m excited to introduce Shannon of AKA Design. Not only is her home totally gorgeous (it’s been featured on the Steven and Chris Show and about to be photographed by Apartment Therapy), but she’s also writing a book that will launch very soon! A smart and design savvy gal!

Shannon and Dean Acheson

Hello, I’m Shannon Acheson the writer behind AKA Design, a Canadian blog where my hubby, Dean, and I share our thrifty design finds, organization ideas & affordable DIY projects. I was thrilled when Shauna sent me links to these three settees around which to build virtual rooms for her Designer Challenge! So much fun!

Settee Options

The first settee is the West Elm Elton Settee. {I personally love the folks at west elm after ordering our white duvet cover from there this summer.}

The second settee is Zinc Door’s Lincoln Settee. Mmm, grain sack – esque stripes!!!

And finally the third settee is Layla Grayce’s Eloquence Swedish Settee. Gah!

How on earth am I supposed to choose? They are all gorgeous! Hmm…

I finally chose the Zinc Door Lincoln Settee. It was tough. I really loved the Layla Grace settee as well, but it just didn’t seem snuggle-up comfortable, you know?

Industrial Den Mood Board

Anyway, I thought the Lincoln Settee would look fabulous in a den paired with all sorts of vintage industrial pieces.

In it, I’d Use: a Unique Side Table from Z Gallerie, industrial bookshelves, a vintage looking factory cart, a couple of Ikea lanterns, a HUGE Clock, a throw blanket or two and stacks of old books. What do you think?

Thanks again for having me Shauna! This was fun!

Thanks, Shannon! I love the settee you chose and the rustic industrial mix you’ve put together. I think this room would look fabulous and I’d definitely want to curl up and read a great book in it!

What do you think? Which settee would you choose and what would you do with it?

Come back tomorrow to see which settee Jackie chose and what she did with it. It’s stunning!
