Fall Home Decor Picks to Warm Up Your Kitchen

Warm up your kitchen with these classic fall home decor picks in neutral colours and textures. Let’s transition from summer to fall.

How are you? I’m slowly recovering from my staircase incident and will hopefully be back to my usual pace soon. In the meantime, I’m gathering up some fall home decor pieces (new and old) for an upcoming home tour I’ll be part of in September. Be sure to take a look at last year’s beautiful collection of homes decorated for fall.

Fall is my absolute favourite time of year to decorate. I love adding layers of different textures to create a warm and cozy space. It makes the cooler weather and shorter days bearable, you know?

Most seasons, I start by making changes to our front porch. It sets the tone for the rest of our house. This time, I opted to begin in the kitchen instead (while my back and arm heal up).

Our kitchen is basically a blank canvas of whites and greys, making it so easy and fun to play around in. I haven’t come across a colour that it can’t handle (yet).

Having said that, this time of year I prefer to keep colour to a minimum and rely on natural materials in varying textures and neutral shades to transition to the new season. I’m talking about seagrass, metal, wood, and the like. They do a good job of warming up a white kitchen.

Chances are, most of these items will work for your kitchen too. What’s best, is they also serve a purpose beyond looking pretty. In kitchens, I think it’s important to have the right combination of form and function.

Have any kitchen decor favourites? I’d be happy with any of them. Of course, you can shop around for different variations and price points. These are a good jumping off point.

In addition to fall home decor pieces, I also like to add fresh or dried foliage and flowers like hydrangeas, sunflowers and garden mums. Bowls of seasonal fruit and vegetables are pretty too.

On another note, I can’t believe we’re getting ready to move our son back to university this weekend. Say, what? Have your kiddos gone back to school yet? Where did summer go? I’m planning on squeezing out every last drop!

  1. Hello! I was wondering if your Quartz was Minuet? I’m trying to find a cabinet paint color for my new LG Viatera Minuet countertops and I’m struggling. It’s a small galley kitchen with only one small north facing window. I LOVE using all different shades of white and was curious about your cabinet color?

    Thank you!

  2. Do you happen to know the grout color in your kitchen?

    It’s exactly what I’m looking for! :)
