Weekend Inspiration

Ready for some weekend inspiration? You’ll love these home decorating and organizing ideas.

Happy Friday, friends! I have so many projects on the go right now, but nothing finished and photographed to share with you. Around here, it’s a case of things getting worse before they get better!

One thing I did manage to cross off my list this week, however, was cleaning and organizing our seasonal storage room. Now’s the time to get rid of old Halloween costumes and decorations before charities won’t take them for another year. It’s probably a good idea to go through your Christmas stuff too!

Since I don’t have any of my own project updates for you, I thought I’d share some of my favourites I’ve spotted lately. I miss doing features now that I don’t host a regular link party, so here’s a new version…

What I’m Loving Right Now

Those of you who are familiar with Craftberry Bush know that Lucy has a knack for pulling looks together. Love her gorgeous fall front porch (with adorable puppy dog and all).

I’m so impressed with Allison’s use of a small corner in her basement to create this rustic office nook with shelves. Such a clever idea!

Check out this bold floral wallpaper Kristin from the Hunted Interior used in her client’s “big girl” room. So stunning!

I recently stumbled upon Jenna Sue’s blog and immediately fell in love with her style. Check out this simple reclaimed wood coat rack she made, along with more rustic goodness!

On another note, are you following this round of Calling it Home’s One Room Challenge? I can’t believe some of the transformations to this point! I participated in this series last October tackling my office, and let me tell you how fast a week flies by. Can’t wait to see the finale!

  1. Love the project photos you chose, especially the rustic coat rack! Yipes, Christmas! This morning I began writing down who I need to buy gifts for this year, along with gift ideas. I agree, better to start planning and tackling tasks now as opposed to waiting and scrambling in December :)

    1. I’m with you, Sandra! I’ve purchased a few gifts, and am determined to have them wrapped and ready ahead of time this year! Let’s do this! :)

  2. I do love that bold floral wallpaper!!! Totally looking for something like that when we finally do our Reno.

  3. Some beautiful decor ideas for sure! Christmas, though, I can wait for… ugh.

    LOL!

    Have a happy weekend Shauna!!

    1. Not to rush it coming, for sure. But the best decor, wrap, etc. always seems to be gone if you wait too long! Plus, I don’t like waiting until it’s CRAZY out there to do my running around. Would much rather be sipping hot cocoa, listening to music and doing whatever else in the comfort of my home…

  4. I hadn’t seen the Hunted Interior before – now I have to check it out, because I LOVE that room. Can’t wait for the Xmas series!

  5. Hello! I’m so glad I found you! :) I would love to participate in the Holiday Countdown, Lord knows, I could use some help organizing myself. Did your neighbors think you were nuts the first time you put up your outside lights in October? :)
I think I’ll post about mine on my blog too, it will be fun!
Oh, and I love your features, Allison’s office is to die for. :)

    1. Hi Kimm, so glad you’re on board. Being from Canada, it’s quite normal to put lights up in October. We don’t turn them on, but it’s better than fighting with the snow and ice in late November. This year, our neighbours beat us to it. Ours will likely go up this Sunday (we’ve had a warm fall so everything’s a bit delayed this year).
