Which settee would you choose? Come check out the eclectic bedroom lounge area Jackie put together for this edition of the Designer Challenge!

Welcome to Part Two of the Designer Challenge, Settee Edition! I’m thrilled to welcome the very talented Jackie of Teal and Lime. I admire Jackie’s work, not only because we share a love of blue and green, but also for her stylish blog that’s chock-full of amazing decorating ideas and wonderful inspiration. I can’t wait for you to see what she did!

If you missed Part One, be sure to catch up on the three settee options and find out what Shannon did.

When Shauna asked me to guest post, I wanted to see my three choices before she even finished asking. I can always use a good excuse to window shop online and create mood boards.

Without a doubt, I would choose the Elton Settee. We have actually had our eyes on it for our master bedroom.

Elton Settee Dove Grey West Elm

We currently have a small chaise and two large dressers in the room. I would love to move one of the dressers into the closet and replace the chaise with the Elton settee. The vision is a cozy, romantic, cuddle up seating area.

First of all, I would choose one of the fabulous performance velvet fabrics, like Dove Grey. There is nothing better than velvet and tufting to add some romance. I would soften up the settee with one of these gorgeous Bukhara pillows from Z Gallerie. Then, I would also toss on one of these Lazo fur throws. I just checked them out in person in the store and they are scrumptious. And I would have to splurge on one of these gorgeous feather screen printed pillows.

To really define the space as a seating area I would add the turned leg dhurrie ottoman from West Elm. I love the Moroccan print to add some pattern to the seating area. I would also nestle one of these twisty stools next to the settee for setting down a book or cup of coffee.

On the wall adjacent to the settee, I would lean three of these IKEA Songe floor-length mirrors against the wall. The soft arched tops are romantic. They would mimic windows and help bounce light around the room. Speaking of light, I would hang a trio of vintage wire lampshades in the corner above the settee. I would mix together this scalloped wire lamp shade frame, this amazing custom victorian frame, and this smaller unique victorian lamp shade frame. With Edison light bulbs they would give off a soft glow and make cool patterns on the walls and ceiling.

Thanks for having me Shauna. This was so fun! Off to redesign the rest of my master bedroom to go with this look :)

Wow-za! Can’t you just picture this vignette in the bedroom?! I think it would be totally gorgeous, yet a space you could use comfortably.

Thank you, Jackie, for taking the time to put this together. It certainly has inspired me to make some changes to my bedroom.

What do you think? Which settee would you choose and what would you do with it? I’d love to know.

  1. I recognized the cushion from Zgallerie right away Shauna as it is one I’ve had my eye on for a while.  I love the Teal and Lime website!
