A Challenge to Try Something New

Are you ready to try something new? Here are some recipes, crafts and DIY projects I’m going to tackle over the next couple months.

Fall is the season of big change. I don’t know about where you live, but this week I’ve noticed the leaves turning color quickly and the temperature dropping significantly. I’m afraid there’s no turning back!

After reading Kimberly’s inspiring guest post this week and in the spirit of the season, I was inspired to try my hand at something I’ve never done before. You know- shake things up a bit and see what comes of it!

What I’m Trying:

Here’s what I’ve decided to commit to over the next couple months:

  • Sewing a slipcover
  • Hanging wallpaper (I’ve done this before as the assistant, but I’ve never taken the lead)
  • Hosting a wine-tasting party

I know what some of you are thinking- “Wow- you’re really going to do that?” And others- “Wow, that’s it?” But, truthfully, these will be a bit of a stretch for me.

If you feel like you could use a little change of your own, I challenge you to try something new to spark the flow of creativity. It doesn’t have to be something BIG like installing kitchen cabinets if you’ve never picked up a power tool in your life.

Take Kimberly’s advice and choose something “fairly simple. Stress free. No scary long-term commitment that will freak out your brain and cause it to reset you to comfortable.”

I plan on blogging about each experience so that you may share in my triumphs and learn from my failures (perhaps I should be thinking a little more positively). More importantly, I’m hoping that I’ll have some intangible moments to share- you know those ah-ha moments (or oh-no moments) that allow us to stretch, grow and reach a new level in our lives.

I’d love for you to join me. Let me know what you commit to trying over next 2 months and report back what happens.

    1. Thanks Tiffany. I think it’s always good to try something new. Could be a disaster, but we’ll see. Let me know how your wine tasting party goes.
P.S. Love your blog as well!
