New Kitchen Storage and Mabel’s Labels Giveaway!

Since mid-January, I’ve been going through closets, cabinets, drawers, and our pantry to weed out anything we don’t use, give everything a thorough cleaning, and re-organize as necessary. It’s always a big job, but I love how fresh and airy everything feels when it’s done.

Although our pantry was fairly well organized, I was tired of food in bags and boxes falling over and going stale when they weren’t properly closed (not pointing any fingers!). The same thing was happening in the fridge, and I needed to come up with a better food storage solution.

Coincidence or not, around the same time I was reorganizing our pantry, Mabel’s Labels contacted me and asked if I’d like to try their new household labels. Being the organizing enthusiast I am, I immediately jumped at the chance since I love to label everything! These labels are not only stylish, but they’re also dishwasher, microwave, and UV safe. I’m on board with anything that’s low maintenance and makes life a little easier.

Easy Button Gift Embellishments + Gold Necklace Giveaway!

Welcome to the last installment of the One Item Project Challenge. We’ve had a lot of fun over the past few weeks getting creative with fabric paint and gold leafing. This week I chose buttons as the craft supply we all had to work with, since most of us already have some on hand and they’re relatively inexpensive. To me, there’s something beautiful about buttons, no matter how intricate or simple they are.

After going through my rather large supply of buttons, I immediately knew what I was going to do. As some of you already know, one of my favorite things to do is wrap presents. Throughout the year, I’m always on the hunt for unique paper, bags, boxes, tags and other wrapping supplies, as well as creative ways to use them. I see beauty in the details, and my heart always sings when I’m inspired by a simple and inexpensive idea for embellishing gifts.

To create your own button gift embellishments, you will need a kit for covering buttons, scissors, assortment of printed and/or solid fabrics and elasticized ribbon or cording. I had all of these supplies on hand, except the ribbon, which is available at Michaels. Just look for “elasticized” printed on the clear film that covers the ribbon.

Satori’s Blogiversary + Giveaway Event {Day Five}

Welcome to Day 5 of Satori’s Blogiversary Event! Today is the final giveaway and it comes from me! I’m certain there’s a part of your home that could use a little freshening, and that’s where the Satori Refresh My Nest prize pack comes in.

So what does it entail?

Firstly, the winner will get to select one room in the house that needs a little help (we’re talking a decorating job, not a major overhaul). It could be a laundry room, bedroom, front entrance or whatever room one’s little heart desires.

After seeing photos and gathering info, I will create a mood board like the one below that includes decor item suggestions to freshen up the space. I will also include a written plan for pulling it all together.

In addition, the same winner will get a copy of one of my favorite home inspiration books, Decorate, by Holly Becker.

Satori’s Blogiversary + Giveaway Event {Day One}

Can you believe I’ve been writing the Satori Blog for one year already? What started out as a way to share what’s going on in my life of design, decorating and organizing, turned out to be so much more! One thing I didn’t anticipate is the connection I would make with all of you through the process. I can see why so many people are stepping into the blogosphere!

To celebrate Satori’s one-year blogiversay (or blog anniversary), plus four amazing years of business, I’ve teamed up with a few super talented ladies to bring you 5 Days of Giveaways! I figured, what’s a party without gifts?

Today’s gifveaway comes from Divine NY, a design studio specializing in making something “old” look new by repurposing vintage saris, fabric and sari remnants with burlap and silk to create new one-of-a-kind home accessories such as sari throws, table runners, coasters and pillows.

Rehka is generously offering a set of 4 coasters made from burlap and sari remnants to one lucky winner. These coasters are the perfect blend of “East-meets-West” creating a rustic, elegant and ethnically inspired table top accent.

Designer Challenge: Which Outdoor Seating? {Reader Edition}

If you remember about a month ago, with the suggestion of one of my readers, I opened up the Designer Challenge to Satori Readers. Fortunately, Olioboard wanted to join in and offered to award our top three picks a 6-month upgrade to their Pro version. How fun!

Readers were given three outdoor seating options, including the Catalina Lounge Chair, Geometric Pouf and Nantucket Chair. They were asked to create a mood board using one of them.

To help select the top three mood board entries, I enlisted the help of two past Designer Challenge participants, Nancy from Marcus Design and Jackie from Teal and Lime. I just love these outdoor spaces sent in by Sheila, Shantelle and Tiffany!
