Where I Shop for Home Decor Deals

Sharing some of my favourite online sources for scoring home decor deals.

Over the past few years, I’ve seen the accessibility of designer furniture and accessories increase to the general public. This is especially true for online shopping, which seems to be more popular than ever. Since I introduced E-Design to my list of services starting this past September, I’ve discovered a whole new list of amazing web-based shopping resources.

I still like to get out of my office and shop local stores on a regular basis. I love seeing the unique and interesting ways retailers put displays together and nothing beats being able to see a colour in its true form or being able to feel the texture of an item with my own hands. As well, I enjoy being able to interact with shop associates who can give me the low-down on products and upcoming trends, and allow me to bounce ideas off them for projects. However, the flip side is that goods at many retail stores are pricier, can be expensive to ship and require more time to find. As a result, many of the items I use in designs end up coming from an online shop.

I typically reserve my list of resources for clients, but after receiving emails from readers asking where I find my decorative items, I thought I’d share a couple of my online favourites. Let’s face it, most of us have a budget, but we don’t want to sacrifice quality and design. These online shops are a great balance.

Joss & Main

JOSS & MAIN is a daily collection of unique items including wallpaper, area rugs, storage solutions, pillows and so much more at discounted prices.

I love their ‘Curator’s Collection’ where they ask designers and bloggers to select a grouping to display for sale.

Beso

Another site I like to source from is BESO. This website pulls in products from thousands of the best e-commerce sites out there, so that you can shop your favourite brands and stores with one simple search.

I love their ‘Roundups’ where people display their favourite items on a specific topic.

You can search for almost anything and it will pull up a list of retailers. For instance, when I searched starburst mirrors, it pulled up a whack of styles, as well as their locations and price points. Here is a snapshot of only a few.

You can shop Beso for a variety of home and garden products, as well as fashion, fitness and more to save both time and money.

  1. So Im sitting in the Toronto Airport (I have a layover here) waving to you! I have no clue where in Canada you are, but I figure Im closer to you than I was when I was in Texas. Now headed to check out your favorite on-line stores.

    1. You’re maybe a little closer, but I’m near Calgary, AB. (quite a bit west to where you are). Welcome to Canada and have a fabulous trip. Can’t wait to read about it!

      1. I live near Calgary too! Since Joss and Main doesn’t ship to Canada, do you have your items shipped to the Sweetgrass shipping outlet for pickup?

  2. I didn’t realize Joss and Main was a free membership. I had ignored the site because I assumed it cost money (I guess I have a costco mentality, lol). Thanks for the tip!!

    1. Currently they don’t ship to Canada, but there are always ways around that. You’ll get a daily email, but I quickly look and if there isn’t anything that appeals to me in the cover page, I just delete it. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Thanks for the tips Shauna, I’m always looking for new online shopping resources so thanks. Have a wonderful weekend :)

  4. Hi

I love Joss & Main and am subscribed but it’s disappointing because I live in Canada. You mentioned there’s a way around that ? I would love if you could tell me what that is :)

    Thank you

    Anna

    1. Depending on where you live, you can get it sent to a shipping outlet by the border and pick it up. I have family members who have a place in the US, so that’s the way I get most of my stuff.
